On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., attorney Vicki L. Shemin, J.D., LICSW, ACSW, will chair an esteemed panel to tackle “The Parent Coordinator’s Challenge: How to Keep Parents in the Boat if They Want to Jump Ship,” a webinar hosted by the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA). Attorney Shemin will guide a discussion that explores the complex role of PCs in high-stakes family law matters. Panelists include Premela Deck, LICSW, JD, PhD from SD Law, P.C., Canton, and Tony Pelusi, Esq., Tony Pelusi & Associates, North Andover.
The panel is especially honored to welcome Chief Justice John D. Casey who will deliver some remarks; and is also honored to count among our valued attendees Domenic DiCenso, Deputy Court Administrator; and Denise Fitzgerald, Assistant Deputy Court Administrator.
This program will offer actionable strategies for PCs while imparting invaluable insights for therapists/mediators/family law professionals to identify client disengagement or resistance, and to employ proven techniques to promote parental collaboration and creative management of the process – all in the best interests of children and families. Attendees will gain practical tools to address emotional and psychological barriers; understand the underlying psychodynamics of parent behavior; and learn how to maintain agreements made during the PC process.
