Newtonville
Home to Newtonville Books, one of the most prestigious and well-known bookstores in the Metro Boston area, the village of Newtonville is bordered by Newton Upper Falls, West Newton, Auburndale, and Nonantum. Walnut Street is the community’s main road with its variety of shops, cafes, banks, and fitness centers, though on the whole Newtonville is considered a residential area. Notable landmarks in Newtonville include Cabor Park, Linwood Park, Carr School Playground, Claflin Field, the Bulloughs, and the Boston College Newton Campus and Game Field. In terms of education, Newton North High School serves the local community. One can reach Newtonville by traveling on the MBTA commuter rail, MBTA buses 59, 553, 554, and 556, and by the Mass Pike and Routes 16 and 30.
