Newton Centre

Most commonly known by its English spelling of “centre”, the village of Newton Centre is bordered by Newtonville and Chestnut Hill. Newton Centre has the largest downtown area of all of Newton’s thirteen villages with most of its stores laid out around the intersection of Beacon Street, Centre Street and Langley Road. Some of these local shops and restaurants include Farm Frill and Rotisseria, JP Licks, Learning Express Toy Store, Fulham Salon, JD Daddario Ferguson, and Newbury Comics. Furthermore, the community has a wide variety of outdoor recreational spaces such as Nahanton Park, Coldspring Park, Crystal Lake, Weeks Field, Newton Highland Playground, and the Hemlock Gorge Reservation. In terms of education, Newton Centre is home to the Boston College Law School, as well as Hebrew College and Andover Newton Theological School. One can reach Newton Centre by way of Routes 9 and 128, as well as Interstate 95.
