Newton Highlands

Located in the city of Newton and bordered by Newton Centre, Newtonville, and Chestnut Hill, the village of Newton Highlands is a predominantly suburban community with a reasonably sized commercial area along its main streets. Newton Highlands has a variety of local shops such as Newton Pizza House, Baker’s Best, Kim’s Nail Salon, and Greene Planet Kids. The residents of Newton Highlands celebrate their community on Village Day, an annual event that includes a small carnival, music, food and a 5k-road race in June.

Newton Highlands has a number of recreational areas such as the Charles River Reservation, the Brae Burn Country Club, Coldspring Park, Crystal Lake, Martin Memorial Golf Course, and the Woodland Country Club. Located nearby is also the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In terms of education, Newton Highlands has an array of educational centers for young children such as the Countryside Children’s Center, the Countryside Elementary School, the Little Red Wagon Play School, and the Victorian Montessori Children’s Center. Newton Highlands is also home to Brandeis University and can be accessed by Routes 16 and 128, by Interstate 95, and by the MBTA Green Line.
